I Am A Mess

I saw the following post on Instagram last week and it resonated deeply in my soul!

Every single day I mess up and God is never surprised by it nor does it change how He feels about me.  It just gives Him more to work with! 

11 days in to 2021 and life is still overwhelming, chaotic and I am mess!!!! But I am God’s mess! Friends, it is okay if you are still feeling overwhelmed and struggling, The change of a calendar from one year to the next does not come with some magic dust that makes last year’s problems magically disappear! It is simply a new day. 

But God gives us encouragement about each new day. A new day brings new mercies. A new day brings morning and light. A new day brings life. God is right there in the midst of this new day continuing to love us and ready to pick up all the pieces of our big messes.

This world cannot consume us because of His great love for us. Nothing can change that. His compassion never fails. As a matter of fact, they are new every morning. Great is the faithfulness of our Lord.  “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Jesus sees us. Jesus sees us when we are floundering. He sees us when we are faithfully in His Word and praying on a regular basis. He sees us when we are struggling to just make it through the day. He sees our afflictions. He sees us when we have it all together and when we are a big mess!!!! JESUS SEES US and in seeing us He has compassion for us! “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:35-36

We are going to struggle. We are going to face hard times. But God’s great love for us never changes; therefore, we will not be consumed by all that is going on in this world. We can hold on to the promise of His great love, His compassion, and His mercy that is new everyday. He extravagantly pours His mercy and love on us continually! And that will never change – no matter what is going on all around us!

We are loved. We are seen. We are cared for by the Creator of this world –  the very one that gave His Son to die for us.
